Pain is TemporaryCrew has become a huge part of my life I couldn't imaging ever leaving behind. Because nobody really understood what rowing was about, I began taking photographs of my teammates in our boathouse. While everybody sees crew teams racing, I wanted to capture the moments prior to race time. I wanted to show everyone, what crew was really about it. Crew was not always about how fast I could move the boat, or what my 2k time was, or how many races I have won...it was about my teammates, my goals, my pride, and the unique feelings I never felt anywhere else. It was about my teammates that have became people i have depended on and have depended on me. It was about waking up at 5 am in the morning to row on perfect water as the sun rose. It was about the intense moment at the startline, when all 10 boats are aligned and silent, ready to race to the death. It was about the unique feeling of rowing as one cohesive unit with 8 other girls in a boat. It was about the smiles and laughter, but also the anger and cries. It was about pushing yourself to your limits, absorbing the pain to make you stronger. Crew, was an addiction.
